Embarrassment is red faces and scratching the back of your neck. It's when someone puts you down for doing something. You are ashamed and you may feel bad for doing that something. And we are, in face, very embarrassed that we haven't posted since Monday. We are ashamed, and we feel bad for doing it. So, here is today's post. Apology.

You are only as strong as your weakest link. Whether it be your loyalty to a fault, your excessive pride, or your constant self-hatred, this is the part of you that will cripple every day for the rest of your life. The strong ones will repair their faults. The weak ones will crack. It is your choice as to what your decision is. There is lots of time to fix and forget, but keep in mind that your weakest link will hinder the progress you wish to create in the world - good or bad.

poetry

One of the best ways to express yourself is to write poetry. It requires you and your reader to think about every word, because saying,

"The rain fell hard on my window as I cried,"

Is very, very different from,

"The rain fell soft on my window as I cried."

Every word counts, no matter how trivial you think it is. Next time you are in a passionate or inspired mood, try expressing the feelings that you can't talk about onto paper or the computer. You will soon find that simple phrases like "clock" or "sunrise" can turn into elegant metaphors that convey deep meaning.

There is a movie called "The Gods Must Be Crazy" about a family of bushpeople who are suddenly greeted with a Coca-Cola bottle from the sky. They think it is from the gods and they begin to fight over it. Finally, the oldest man in the village says the thing is the Evil Thing and that someone must throw it off the edge of the world. A young man volunteers and as he is traveling toward the edge of the earth, he meets many "civilized people" in his native country, and the entire time he is not swayed by technology, guns, and English. He stands up for what he was taught and never even bothers to learn any of this new science because he knows he will return to his family soon.
This is a beautiful metaphorical example of individuality.
