in reply to what makes me me (by nico)
What makes me me
Is too hard to guess;
I am sly and sneaky
Yet honest and trusting
My puppy eyes are
Filled with false love
And behind them
My dark brain lurks.
There are lingering secrets
That could compromise the
Respect I've tried so hard to earn
From friends that just
Suck at being friends.
Locks of dark hair
Are like the mental walls
I build, keeping you and
You prying eyes away from
My business,
Which you shouldn't even
Be wondering about
In the first place.
Under my thick lashes
Are dark irises and black pupils
That no light can
Penetrate,
No matter the strength
Of its batteries.
There are too many
Parts of me that are
Too hard to share;
There are such sinister
Bits that scare even myself,
Even when the ghosts
That I make myself at home
With comfort me with
Their whispers.
Arrogance (by Kat)
Arrogance is not
The best way to gain praises.
Try being yourself.
Majesty (by Kat)
A mountain in the background,
Covered in layers of freezing fluffy snow,
Miles in between me and my target,
All covered in tiny, individual flakes of ice.
A flat plain stretching wide,
Ending at the beginning of the stone growing tall,
It will always wish to shatter,
Like a crystal glass dropped from high above.
The smallest sound can be heard,
Paws treading softly on the carpet of white,
Claws that can rip you apart,
Staining the world a dark shade of red.
My hand trembles at what I can do,
Voicing my fear of what my pointed weapon is capable of,
Only a minute do I require,
To finish the job and bring back the bounty.
From head to tail there is majesty,
An aura of power and pride and beauty,
Something to fear and admire,
A feline to awe you deep in your soul.
A wide, pale eye focuses on me,
Filled with infinite intelligence that is so difficult to end and erase,
My weapon inches away from what it is designed to do,
Because perfection is hard to kill, even when it threatens to kill you first.
Covered with powder from years in the tundra,
A lithe body stretches until it sends a shadow twice as big over the snow,
Haunches tighten, ready to spring away,
But my weapon reaches the ground, a sign of defeat.
To remove this dignified creature from the world would be murder,
Worthy of the death sentence brought upon my shoulders that only redemption can reverse,
A snow leopard cannot be deleted from the world’s origin code,
Many new lines of intelligence will be filled in to replace the animal gone.
You cannot kill such august, such majesty.
Beautiful - love the snow leopard!
